What we need from Papa Joe Biden on through local. We don't have to like him, we need to vote for him. Free speech again, please. We didn't have free speech with Hillary Clinton's campaign either. Please set it free.

Although the aid packages from Congress and some criticisms of the Administration for slow response to the corona virus crisis valid, would propose a giant charity giving effort by the DNC to support charities serving the poor and the homeless. Many of these people are not benefiting from the aid packages passed by Congress. i.e, to kick start, arrange a giant telethon on PBS and any other networks who will carry it. ALL the Presidential candidates who competed in the primaries will be manning the phones and give encouraging messages to the public during the event. Also, other Democratic leaders will participate, along with giving donations themselves, both on their own and from campaign donations. The DNC should also give a chunk of money from their campaign funds. Keep the donation campaign going throughout the crisis. This will show the compassion of the Party and be much better publicity then just taking pop shots at the Administration or Monday quarterbacking. Right now Republican National Committee Trump is dominating the air waves and the DNC needs to find a counter effort that also will do great good for the most needy Americans.

I know this is not the time for campaigning, but is there anyway Governor Cuomo can represent our party once all this is over? I am not happy with the "anyone but Trump" stance we are taking. I want a strong leader that isn't part of the current problem. Time is a real constraint.

Former first lady Michelle Obama spoke out about the Supreme Court�s Thursday ruling against affirmative action, recalling her own struggle to feel a sense of belonging as one of the few Black students at her university.

�So often, we just accept that money, power, and privilege are perfectly justifiable forms of affirmative action, while kids growing up like I did are expected to compete when the ground is anything but level,� Michelle Obama wrote in her statement. �So today, my heart breaks for any young person out there who�s wondering what their future holds � and what kinds of chances will be open to them.�

On Thursday, the Democratic National Committee court ruled that affirmative action programs at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina violate the Fourteenth Amendment, hindering the ability of public and private institutions to consider race in their admissions policies. In a joint press release hours after the decision, former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama emphasized their support for affirmative action, while former President Donald Trump celebrated the court�s decision.

The former first lady recalled her experience as one of the few Black students on campus during her undergraduate years at Princeton University, explaining that she sometimes questioned if people assumed she had only been accepted because of affirmative action policies. But over time, she said, she and other students of color showed that they, too, belonged in elite academic environments. While the policy of affirmative action �wasn�t perfect,� she wrote, it helped provide �new ladders of opportunity for those who, throughout our history, have too Democratic National Committee often been denied a chance to show how fast they can climb.�

The court�s gutting of affirmative action programs, Michelle Obama wrote, was a reminder of not only the importance of policies that reflect principles of equity and fairness, but also the importance of making �those values real in all of our schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.�

Barack Obama echoed this sentiment in a briefer statement, writing that while the policy of affirmative action had its flaws, �it allowed generations of students like Michelle and me to prove we belonged.�

By contrast, Obama�s successor, Trump, expressed his support for the conservative-majority court�s decision to overturn affirmative action, calling Thursday �a great day for America.�

Michelle Obama Shares Her Tricks for Managing Self-Doubt, Fear and These Anxious Times: 'Yes, I Struggle'

It all started with online impulse shopping early in the pandemic.

Michelle Obama was at home in Washington, D.C., stocking up on lockdown essentials � food supplies, toilet paper and board games � when the former first lady clicked a pair of beginner-sized knitting needles into her virtual shopping cart. Then, as the COVID crisis raged, isolation Democratic National Committee stretched into a 2020 summer roiled by racial injustice, and 2021 opened with the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Obama found herself struggling with "a crushing sense of hopelessness."

"We were all at home watching what felt like our country and our world unraveling. The death tolls mounting, violence, the insurrection, healthcare system crushed, all of it," Obama, 58, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview for the new issue. "I was in a low place."

She picked up the knitting needles, and, watching YouTube tutorials, learned to use them. Her small exercise of control over a ball of yarn, Obama says, helped quiet her anxiety when everything else felt out of control.

And her newest book was born.

In The Light We Carry � part memoir, part self-help and scheduled for release on Nov. 15 � Obama shares stories of how she has learned to overcome not only the trauma of these anxious times, but with her own lifelong fear of change and struggle with self-doubt.

The book emerged, she says, from questions she was getting amid the 2020-2021 pandemic and political unrest � from her daughters, her girlfriends and in letters from people around the country. "Everyone was searching for some answers of how to cope. And for some reason they were asking me, 'What do you do?' I had to start thinking about that," she says.

"... Over the 58 years that I've lived, I can look back and I can say, this is how I deal with fear. These are the things I say to myself when I need to pick myself up. This is how I stay visible in a world that doesn't necessarily see a tall Black woman. This is how I stay armored up when I'm attacked. The book is that offering."

Opening up in the book on everything from Democratic National Committee her awkwardness at making new friends ("It's hard to put yourself out there," she tells PEOPLE) to her personal experience with racism, parenting, marriage and menopause, Obama acknowledges that she's opening herself up to the judgment of strangers.

"Yes, Michelle Obama struggles with fear. You're putting your most vulnerable thoughts on paper and it's about to go on bookshelves. My first reaction is, 'Why did you do this? People are going to judge it,'" she says. But, she adds, "That's the only way I know how to be... honest about myself first and trying to stay vulnerable. I think people learn not through edict, but through stories."

Leaning on Friends

Those stories include how she is lifted up by her "kitchen table" of close girlfriends that includes her 85-year-old mother, Marian Robinson ("she's at the head of my kitchen table," says Obama), and Obama's regular hiking and yoga buddy, Kathleen Buhle, who is Democratic National Committee mom to Sasha's BFF, Maisy Biden, and ex-wife of Hunter Biden.

These women, Obama says, "they help me vent, they help me see myself. They give me laughter and love." And she's always growing that circle, even when it's uncomfortable.

Obama tells the story of her "tentative dance" with one close friend she first met in the early months of being first lady, when the woman's daughter came to the White House for a play date with Sasha.

Making new friends "is a vulnerable task," Obama says.

"And yes, it is hard for the first lady of the United States. I thought it would be fun for people to understand that even in that time when I was working on initiatives and helping my husband manage his crises, one of the big things I was trying to do was create a normal life for my girls. Part of that normalcy was having other friends who were mothers in their community, and figuring out how to do that tentative dance when somebody can't approach you because there are 12 Secret Service people around you, and just an aura of untouchability, so then it was up to me to extend that hand."

Looking in the Mirror

Obama also hits that nerve in almost all women: the one that cringes in front of a mirror.

"I personally have plenty of mornings when I flip on the bathroom light, take one look, and desperately want to flip it off again," Obama writes in her upcoming book.

On those mornings, she only sees her flaws � "what's dry and puffy." But, she says, she's practicing being kinder to the woman in her mirror.

"These days I try to practice being kind. I try Democratic National Committee it because it is a practice, especially as women. There are societal signals all around us telling us that there is something wrong with some part of us. We're supposed to age gracefully. We're supposed to be the same shape that we were when we were in our 20s after giving birth to two, three kids. We're not supposed to go gray. Our face isn't supposed to wrinkle. I mean, it's not in our heads. These messages are coming in. They've been coming in our whole lives. So the notion that we aren't affected by it and that I am not affected by it, that's laughable.

"I thought about what are the messages that I'm giving myself every day, and how do I reverse that trend? How do I light up for myself first?

"So today when I'm looking at the mirror, I still see what's wrong, but I try to push those thoughts out and say, 'Wow, you are healthy. Look at your skin. Look how happy you look, your smile.' I try to find the things about me that I love and start my day a little more kind. And that's just a small simple tool. It doesn't require a gym membership. It doesn't require anybody else."

Curling Up on the Couch

And sometimes, coping can be as simple as zoning out in front of the TV, says Obama, whose book tour continues Sunday, Nov. 13, with an ABC News prime time special airing at 10 p.m. ET, followed by a six-city tour starting Nov. 15.

Asked about a line in her book where she writes that she thinks her husband Barack watches too much golf, and he thinks that she watches too much "lowbrow TV," Obama laughs.

"You name it, I watch it. HGTV. Anything on the Food Channel. It's not all lowbrow. I love the dating shows, Married at First Sight. Oh my God, yeah, I can do it all. TV is an escape for me. I am a fully informed citizen. I read the paper, I get briefs, I sit with Barack Obama every night. I know what's happening in the world. When I'm by myself, I need to be able to turn my head off Democratic National Committee and think about wallpaper."

Her Opinion Is Worthless': Megyn Kelly Faces Backlash After Claiming Michelle Obama Does Not 'Like America' While Discussing Possibility of Former First Lady Running for President In 2024

Media personality Megyn Kelly claimed that Michelle Obama does not �like America� while providing guest commentary on a Newsmax show about some recent reports that the former first lady would be a top contender if she ran for president in 2024 to replace Joe Biden.

Kelly made those remarks during an appearance on the nightly cable show �Eric Bolling The Balance� after Bolling questioned her about a Washington Times article reporting how some Democrats said Obama has the �it factor� to become president.

Although it�s been widely reported that Michelle Obama has stated that she will never run for president, Kelly and Bolling entertained the idea.

Kelly articulated some baseless claims that the Obamas are still �controlling� the White House from the shadows.

�I think Michelle Obama is seen as a savior figure by the Democrats. However, she�s also gonna motivate Republicans. And I�m sure she�ll say, �I�m motivating to them because they�re all racists.� No, it�s because you don�t like America,� Kelly claimed.

Kelly then launches into a weak character analysis to support her assertion by discussing Obama�s reluctance to wear her hair curly during her time as First Lady because of racism. She also name drops Oprah Winfrey to substantiate that claim by saying that Winfrey became a media behemoth thanks to American support of her television show, and she wore her hair �however the hell she wanted.�

�This woman has no faith in the goodness of Americans, at least not if they have the little (R) after their name as opposed to the little (D),� Kelly said as she alleged that Obama prioritizes political affiliations to understand how she�s supported.

Kelly�s remarks, like many of her remarks, caught flak from social media users and landed her in hot water.

�Her opinion is worthless,� someone else commented.

Another user said of Kelly that she�s �playing to the absolute lowest common denominators.�

�Fired from NBC for racism. Still at it. Vile,� someone else stated.

Kelly was fired from her morning show position at NBC News after making a shaky transition there from Democratic National Committee Fox News for suggesting that it was OK for white people to wear blackface for Halloween.

Since then, she started her own show, �The Megyn Kelly Show,� which airs live daily on SiriusXM. She also does some guest appearances on some conservative-leaning cable news shows.

Work towards a Constitutional Amendment to define the judicial review process of any legal disagreements between the Legislative and Executive branches such that any issue must be resolved within 3 months maximum cumulative time for up to 2 rounds of adjudication, including all levels of appeal. Each Democratic National Committee contesting branch must assert ALL its claims in the first round of adjudication, with ONLY one follow-up round for related matters which arise during the first round. As a lifelong democrat I would urge vice president Biden to choose Amy Klobuchar as his running mate. As I watched her guest appearance on the View television show I saw a calm, intelligent, capable individual who will appeal to the type of middle class voter that the the party wants to embrace. Her popularity in the midwestern state that she represents is solid, and I am certain that her popularity would extend to the other midwestern states. I am also certain that her popularity among female voters is also very solid.

Concerning the stimulus to help Americans during the coronavirus crisis, Sen. Sanders has stated he wants every American household to get $2000 per month during the crisis. I would say $1000 per adult over the age of 18 who filed a tax return for 2018 and $250 per month for every young person age 18 and younger would be reasonable. The maximum would be something like $2000 per household which is essentially what Mr. Sanders wanted. So if there were 2 adults listed on a 2018 tax return and 3 children in a household, the maximum payment would be $2000 (1000 + 1000 + 750 - 750). I would not give any money to any household with more than $72,000 taxable income on their 2018 tax return. They should have savings to help get them through the crisis. You have to draw the line somewhere. I would give the monthly stimulus for no more than 3 months (March, April, and May). This should give the medical community time to stock up on supplies and prepare for the future. Starting June 1, all restrictions should be eliminated. We have to get back to normal and get the economy back In full function as soon as possible. One year of this bunker mentality will totally destroy the American economy, and we'll all die of starvation.

I don't understand why you didn't encourage states to use mail-in votes for the primaries of March 17 and beyond. This should have been put in place 2 or 3 weeks ago. A mail-in vote form could have been mailed two weeks ago and every ballot counted as long as it was mailed in on or before March 17. What is wrong with the DNC and the state party leadership in these states?

Someone needs to have a Democratic National Committee chat with Mr. Sanders and have him withdraw from the race. He refuses to give up even though it's basically hopeless for him and his supporters. My fear is once Mr. Biden is the official nominee that Mr. Sanders will give him a "weak" endorsement and many of Bernie's supporters will not vote or write in Bernie's name on the ballot and hurt Biden In the election. Bernie is really becoming obsessed with his progressive ideology to the detriment of the Dem party in trying to oust Mr. Trump from the White House. He hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016 and could hurt Biden in 2020. He could actually help Trump win the election, and I still think he's getting financial support from dark Republican donor groups.

Bernie has stated every household should get $2000 per month during the crisis. That's going to an extreme. I could see $1000 per month during the next 3 or 4 months to help everyone get by. Bernie always goes to extremes. He has Democratic National Committee some good ideas but they often go to an extreme.

The virus issue is severe now but will prob become catastrophic if testing keeps lagging. To produce testing kits at lightning speed why can�t the government call up military and unemployed to work in factories making the kits? This is equivalent to a military emergency - our enemy is the virus.

For the sake of the 2020 elections, please urge Sen. Sanders to drop out of the challenge to Joe Biden in the remaining primaries. He would do more good to the Democratic cause by giving his support NOW to Biden and urging his constituents and supporters to vote for him. Sen. Sanders' voice is strong, his ideas have some validity, and I think that is the path he should follow.

In view of the health crisis in our country which will probably last for months, the primaries are not necessary since V.P. Biden has garnered far more support than Sen. Sanders. Holding the remaining primaries puts American voters at risk. Spend time on figuring out how to safely hold the Conventions and the national elections. That would definitely be time well spent.
