For the citizens that can afford it, I cannot think of a more
appropriate way to spend the upcoming federal "bonus" check than
to donate one half to the Biden campaign and the remaining one
half to secure a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate. This is

Please be using this time to create TV ads that run and rerun the heinous comments and statements that Trump is and has been making. Such things as suggesting that some Moms and Pops may need to just "take one for the country". Ie., die of Covid 19 so some one else may not get it. doing tons of Town Halls to show our empathy for the workers. We
can not continue to let the daily Trump "briefings" be the final

Well, today I received yet another postcard that in
48 font has on the front - PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CORONAVIRUS
GUIDELINES FOR AMERICA. it is addressed to "Postal Customer." In
the lower front corner are icons of the White House and CDC in
about 16 font.
Again I ask, is this purely public health
literature or part campaign literature.
I received a postcard message though regular USPS mail addressed to resident on coronavirus prevention etc. On the front of the card in large letters was President Trump and the CDC. Sorry, I threw away the card. Contrast that with a similar postcard message from the District of Columbia Department of Health which had in the lower bottom corner, DC Public Health and next to that DC Health and next to that District of Columbia Government and under that Mariel Bowser, Mayor both in script that was about one quarter of the size of the Trump/CDC postcard. I worry as likely does the DNC that Biden and Sanders are disappearing from view. I wonder how many of these postcard messages by Trump/CDC went out in the country. I certainly hope that next Fall, the DNC runs clips of Trump's statements minimizing the danger of coronavirus and calling it a Democrat hoax (he quibbles that he did not), using a coronavirus press conference to take out of context what Biden said about his xenophobia and then calling him "slippery Joe Biden", and putting the economy before health in his "trial balloon" of opening the country by Easter. The political ad then could ask: Who do you trust? Or Does this show competence in a crisis?

Pamela Taylor, whose racist comments about Michelle Obama propelled a small West Virginia town into an unflattering national spotlight and prompted the mayor to resign, will return to her job as head of a government-funded nonprofit group later this month.
Taylor was removed from her position as executive director of the Clay County Development Corp. after she used a derogatory term in a Facebook post about the coming shift from Michelle Obama to Melania Trump. It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House, she wrote last month, adding: "I'm tired of seeing a Michelle Obama the Ape in heels."
After images of the post went viral last month, a Clay County Development Corp. representative told The Washington Post that the nonprofit organization's board had removed Taylor from her position. The uproar also prompted Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling, who commented approvingly on Taylor's post, to resign.

Now, according to a letter from the Clay County Development Corp.'s acting executive director, Taylor is scheduled to return to her old role Dec. 23, the Charleston Gazette-Mail reported. A call to the nonprofit group was not returned Tuesday morning.
In response to Taylor's reinstatement, Robert Roswall, commissioner for the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, and Cynthia Beane, acting commissioner for the state's Bureau of Medical Services, wrote a letter to the nonprofit's board requesting copies of its anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies, as well as an explanation on how its employees have been trained.
Roswall and Beane wrote that in light of recent events surrounding Ms. Taylor that made national media, the county must receive specific assurances that no actions of discrimination/harassment will be conducted or viewed as acceptable practices within the work environment for the Clay County Development Corporation.
Furthermore, please provide specific guarantees that neither Ms. Taylor, nor any other employee, has in any way conducted themselves in a discriminatory manner with any recipient, or potential recipient, receiving state services that your organization administers, said the letter, dated Dec. 7 and addressed to Eunice Thomas, president of the organization's board.
Clay County Development Corp. uses state and federal funds and works with the county to provide services to elderly and low-income residents. In 2014, the organization ranked second among the county's top employers, according to Workforce West Virginia.
As such, the letter states, the organization should already have in place policies on affirmative action and anti-discrimination or harassment practices.
After Taylor's comments went viral, an online petition calling for her and Whaling to be fired began filling with digital signatures, ultimately logging nearly 200,000 of them.
Tuesday, as news of Taylor's reinstatement spread, the petition was updated.

II am writing to say that this primary needs to continue. Bernie Sanders gets cheated every time he runs for president. Suppressing voters and trying to eliminate the vote of the rest of the American who have not voted is unconstitutional. There should be one person on vote and not have delegates and super delegates. Continue the primary and allow Bernie Sanders to bring hope to the American people. Now that Joe Biden will likely be the Democratic nominee, I believe the best strategy for him will be to not debate Trump at all. Trump is a master blowhard. There were other Democratic candidates more equipped to verbally joust with Trump's bloviation (Warren, Klobuchar, Buttigieg, and Bernie) but they will not be on that stage, and neither should Biden. The unemployment benefits in the stimulus package are for 4
months and $600 per week. Would it not be better if the plan was
for 6 months and $400 per week? The total would be the same but
spread out over a longer and more realistic time period.
Please encourage the federal gov't to issue a standardized N-95
mask to every US resident which they should wear in public. I
believe it would help stop the coronavirus and give people more

Another note: In light of all these stimulus packages, what is being done to help retirees? Many of us are saddled with IRMAA, a punishment for working hard and earning extra money. Being retired, those paychecks have disappeared, and IRMAA reductions are harmful. Please do something about that.

Now would be a good time for the Democrats in Congress to push for an emergency permanent increase in Social Security benefits. I would think a 1.5 percent increase for retirees earning less than $1400 in benefits (about the average benefit paid) and a 1.0 percent increase for retirees earning benefits of $1400 or more would be reasonable considering the current crisis situation.
